About Us

The National CWD Management and Implementation Plans endorsed the NBII Wildlife Disease Information Node (WDIN) as the common repository for scientific, technical, and geospatial CWD data and information. The CWD data clearinghouse will be capable of accommodating contributed CWD research, monitoring, and surveillance information from the participating State, Federal, Native community and private organizations to help with CWD management and control efforts.

Security is a major system component. Each partner maintains full control of access to their own data. A combination of user profiles and data restrictions limits access, and full-audit logging ensures that all changes are tracked.

The CWD Data Clearinghouse presents a vision for the future of wildlife disease data management. A common set of data standards and GIS tools makes sharing data, retrieving test results, and collaborating on CWD management efforts easy and reliable.
