The red dots indicate the geographic
centroids for Southeastern US states

All pushpins represent a central location, meaning they are located in the center of a geographic boundary. For example, in a county, state, country, or continent, the pushpin is in the geographic center of the area. For a place, the location is represented by best estimate of the place based on coordinates located in either the USGS Geographic Names Information Service, or the NGA GEONet Names Server.
